Solder Defect/Non-Conformity Listing for IPC-A-610

Answer: There is no list which has been published by the IPC regarding a listing of all the defective conditions in IPC-A-610. Any list is usually generated by the individual companies who want or need them. There is a type of listing in IPC J-STD-001 relative to soldering defects and I’ve attached some of the information for you, but there is none from 610 currently.

4.18.3 Partially Visible or Hidden Solder Connections
4.19 Heat Shrinkable Soldering Devices
5. Wires and Terminals Connections

5.1.3 Tinning of Stranded Wire

 

Go into the J-STD-001 document and follow sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 and you can develop a listing from those areas, which would cover most of what is in IPC-A-610.
